Update your fall wardrobe

It's time to start updateing your fall wardrobe. One of the key items to take with you from the summer trend is the military jacket. Keep it fitted around the waist and shoulders for a feminine feel or masculine by making it oversized and boxy. Seen as a continuous favourite for dressing down into casual wear outfits. This trend was seen on the autumn/winter 2012/13 catwalks and I love it.

Better to share than to own

Tired of only using your brand new dress once and then just seeing it hanging in the closet? A new store in Copenhagen might have the answer. As a reaction against the Danish population's massive clothing waste and with a desire to expand people's wardrobes in a sustainable way, now opens Denmark's first dress-library.

In the new store Re-second the principle is simple – for 150 pr per month or 600 for 6 months or 1,000 a year you come into the store with a beautiful and clean quality dress and swap it for another beautiful and clean quality dress. The next day you can come back with the dress and exchange it for a third or just keep it. The store will open again on Saturday 1 September at. 10-14. Jægersborggade 49 2200 Copenhagen.

Good for the environment and good for you - It's better to share than to own: 0) Great idea ... hope that there will soon be one in Aarhus.

Cool Creative Space

The old freight railway station ‘Godsbanegård’ in Aarhus has recently become the framework for a cultural center. Both the main building's distinctive architecture, the huge areas of the two product centers and the central location closely linked to several of the city's most prominent cultural institutions means that the freight buildings is an ideal place for the location of a new cultural powerhouse. Here's gathered a lot of the creative forces in Aarhus and amazing open workshops where you have the opportunity to come and be creative. www.godsbanen.dk

My city

My city; Aarhus is filled with trendy cafes, ethnic restaurants; Emerging designers and second-hand stores. At the local summer hangout ‘åen’ you can spot style conscious artists and students. My favourite neighbourhood is the ‘Latin Quarter’ Aarhus’ oldest quarter. In the narrow cobblestone streets the beautiful houses form a creative mixture of trend-setting design shops to small second-hand stores. Walk the picturesque pavements; enjoy a latte in the sun; get that feeling of being in a part of town where anything might happen.

Mad about markets

If you're like me love markets, these two are a must in New York;

The Market NYC
It allows you to meet emerging designers and buy their goods at discount prices. The weekend-only market takes place at 159 Bleecker Street; about 60 designers set up tables weekly. You can expect to find a healthy dose of unisex T-shirts, with slogans like “I Heart Guacamole”, slouchy leather bags, both chic and earthy dresses, bejeweled leather sandals, hand-knit scarves, skull-print ties, and beaded jewelry. More offbeat items include belt buckles printed with original photography and reworked ladies’ vintage pieces. Even if the price is too high at first, designers are willing to bargain, and chatting one up for awhile can sometimes help land a good deal.
The Market NYC
328 West 14th Street
Meatpacking District, NY
Open: Saturday–Sunday 11am-7pm

Brooklyn Flea
The popular outdoor market (which moves indoors at select times during winter) is a must for vintage, and also features locally made accessories, furniture and organic foods. It's also fun for people-watching and street shots.
The Flea features hundreds of top vendors of antique and repurposed furniture, vintage clothing, collectibles and antiques, as well as jewelry, art, and crafts by local artisans and designers, plus delicious fresh food.
Brooklyn Flea
45 Main St., Brooklyn, NY
Open: Sat-Sun 12noon-8pm

Try the Tasting menu where you get nine different small beautiful dishes.

I love New York

I just stumbled across some pictures from my latest trip to New York and was inspired to share some of my favorite things with you. I love New York and especially in late summer when the whole town just sizzles with life and the shops are filled with new goods.

One of my favorite neighborhoods is Williamsburg, Brooklyn. In Williamsburg there are stylish boutiques, trendy vintage and creative interiors stores, and local furniture designers, but particularly atmospheric are its many cafes and restaurants.
Williamsburg is Brooklyn's most fashion-savvy hood; this youthful neighborhood is teeming with directional contemporary boutiques, fun vintage, hip street wear, innovative furniture stores and lots of restaurants. It is easy to get there just take the subway/L train to Bedford Avenue.

If you are in Williamsburg you must visit Artists and Fleas located at 70 North 7th Street between Kent & Wythe Avenues, 3 blocks from the Bedford Avenue L train. It’s an indie fashion and vintage bazaar, a hipster hang-out and fixture in the Williamsburg neighborhood, and a home to the thriving community of countless designers, creators, vintage collectors and foodie enthusiasts that have passed through since 2003. Established in a warehouse on a then-neglected part of North 6th Street in 2003, Artists & Fleas has been a constant in a changing neighborhood – a community for those who love to sell and a destination for those who love to shop. Open every weekend, year-round. See more at; http://www.artistsandfleas.com/
