If you like me love shoes this exhibition is a must; The Design Museum presents iconic French shoe designer Christian Louboutin, celebrating a career which has pushed the boundaries of high fashion shoe design. This exhibition celebrates Louboutin’s career showcasing twenty years of designs and inspiration, revealing the artistry and theatricality of his shoe design from stilettos to lace-up boots, studded sneakers and bejeweled pumps. Be taken on a magical journey of style, glamour, power, femininity, elegance and of cause the the famous red sole.

The red sole was allegedly invented when Louboutin painted the sole of a shoe with red nail.

Pantone has even launched a limited edition colour guide to The Queen to commemorate her Diamond Jubilee.

The bespoke guide, cut to her silhouette, features some of Her Majesty’s most memorable colour choices, including Primrose Yellow, Crystal Blue and Pink Carnation. Each features Pantone Colour references, as well as the date and location of her outfit choice. 

The guide was created in collaboration with ad agency Leo Burnett London.

Dazed & Confused

The June issue of one favorite magazines Dazed & Confused features an editorial inspired by the works of fashion illustrator Rene Gruau. Models Ava Smith, Codie Young and Madison Headrick are made to look like rough sketches by makeup artist Yadim.

Gruau (Feb 1989 – March 2004) was one of the best known artists in the haute couture world during the 1940s and 50s. He was a favorite of designers like Pierre Balmain, Christian Dior and Balenciaga. Famous for his fashion illustration.
