Anna Piaggi Style icon

Anna Piaggi, legendary Italian fashion editor, has died. She was 81 years.

A bastion of the fashion world and one of the front row's most distinguishable faces. She was widely regarded as a true style icon, with a wardrobe full of flamboyant, vibrant clothes, her dyed-blue hair always falling over one eye and lips ever painted in bright colours
Piaggi had a large clothes collection, including 2865 dresses and 265 pairs of shoes, according to a 2006 exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. She dressed in an exuberant, unique and eclectic way, never appearing in the same outfit more than once in public. Such was her influence and knowledge in the fashion world, Manolo Blahnik dubbed her 'The world's last great authority on frocks'.

Collar vol. 2

Yesterday I wrote about the season's must-have accessory, the small collar. Today I came across a blog-shop where an old colleague, Malene Redder Ruby, is selling the coolest handmade collars! They are unique - no two are alike. See more at redderruby.blogspot.dk.

Want to spice up your look?

Want to spice up your look? It does not require very much, actually a small collar is enough. It is the season's most important detail. Small collars are super popular and can be used for everything.
The Queen of the small collar - and probably she who is responsible for bringing it back into fashion, the model Alexa Chung. She has used it a lot both for dresses, skirts and jeans, giving a sweet and girlish touch to her outfits.
I love to put a t-shirt with print along with a small collar; the result is pretty without being too sweet.
See some of my favourites here and get inspired!

FESTIVAL SEASON

Festival season is in full swing and it's not just about listening to music but also about looking good while doing it. It should be a blend of fashion and practice, so the classic Converse sneakers are a must.
Another strong trend this summer is the summer parka. Military-style or knee-length. Oversized and boyish shapes are classic, with or without the fishtail-style of hem. Contrast piping or patchwork shades of green update the item. Keep it traditional in a lightweight cotton drill.
The silhouette and style of the parka, combined with lightweight fabrics, make this item ideal for urban street and festival wear.
Here are some of my favourite parkas and festival looks:

BACK AGAIN

Now everyday life starts again and my blog will be awakened from its slumber.
My batteries are fully charged after a wonderful road trip to Croatia and relaxation in the Danish summer.
I can’t wait to share my inspiration with you again :0)

Who doesn’t love a beautiful sunset?

I love the faded and worn surfaces in Croatia

The shredded jean is back

Shredded, Ripped and torn denim: Just when you thought it was over… it’s back. The shredded denim embodies the undone look of the 90s: all ripped denim, oversized silhouettes and unfinished hems. Now the torn denim shorts and shredded jeans hit the street once again. This time with shots of colour in the weft that bring bright accents to rips and fringe, this gives frayed and raw edged denim a whole new potential.
